Introduction

The Alexander Technique is a practical skill which improves your self awareness and coordination in everyday life. It can become a foundation for ongoing personal development and is often applied to the improvement or training of professional and recreational skills.

The Alexander Technique assists you to change your habits as part of an ongoing process of learning. It can have therapeutic benefit in relation to physical and stress related complaints, but it is not a medical modality or treatment. Please ensure you inform your teacher of any discomfort you experience, including pre-existing injury, pain or medical conditions and that you have qualified medical advice regarding any medical conditions you may have.

Lessons and classes in the technique involve hands-on work and require your active participation, including practise at home. Please wear loose comfortable clothing, as you may lie down on the table or floor during your lessons.

Learning the Alexander technique can continue over an extended period, depending on pre-existing conditions, individual progress, and personal interest. Many people find reading about the work beneficial as an addition to practical classes and lessons.

Please feel free to ask questions and to raise any issue of importance to you. (Contact us).
